Mental Health Talk at St. Patrick’s
The Centre for Policy and Reform in Health and Law (CPR) has conducted a mental health awareness session with students and teachers at St. Patrick’s International Academy, providing an opportunity for young people to learn about mental health, wellbeing and the importance of seeking support.
The session brought together professionals from the health and legal sectors, with presentations delivered by Mental Health Advocate Chiyambi Guwela from the Ministry of Health; Counsel Phillip Junior Mpesi, Counsel Emmanuel Patrick Lunda and Counsel Ashleighn Banda from CPR; and Dr Kapalagwe.
The presentations explored various aspects of mental health and encouraged students to openly discuss mental health challenges, understand the importance of emotional wellbeing and seek appropriate support when facing difficulties.
Representing St. Patrick’s International Academy was Mr Mkwala, the Headmaster, alongside teachers and students who actively participated in the session.
